Business Cards

I know, I missed monday, but I am way busy with my internship and other stuff...so I may have to change the way I'm doing this "design a day" thing...but anyway, to make up for time lost, I consider today's design as two designs. A business card, front and back.

I have a cousin who needed a business card for her hair school. She needed it quick, so I threw her this card together real quick.

Being Single

This was something a friend and I discussed once. Now it's just put into visual form.

I think it would work good on a tshirt, if you had the guts to wear it.

The good, the bad, and the ugly

Ok, this one is pretty lame, but I promised that with my 20mins of design, I would post everything, including the good, the bad, and the ugly.

Just another treatment of Typography.

This is the font Verdana, size 238. Does that ring a bell to any science people out there? U-238? haha.

So dumb

Ok, this is just a dumb post. But hey, this whole 20 minutes a day is really not much time to come up with original stuff....maybe i'll release something once every 3 days, that gives me 20 minutes each day for a combined total of 1 hour.....

Anyway, this is just a dumb joke I heard once on the back of a laffy taffy. I guess I'll do a double feature today...

It's time for a challenge!

Smashing Magazine, one of my favorite design blogs, made a challenge for designers to help them improve their design skills. The challenge, in summary, is to design something everyday for 365 days. I've decided to take on that challenge and try it myself. In order to make myself accountable, I will post each design here on this blog.

Since I started the year on a cruise and have been out of the country, I will start today.

Anyone wanting to see the challenge from smahing magazine, click here

For my fist post, I decided to test out the trace and paint tool in illustrator. I used it on photographs of a starbucks coffee cup and a picture of Joe Biden. I then imported them into photoshop and trimmed them out to make my final product, "a cup of joe".
